3ie’s New Delhi office is looking for a research assistant to support our Promoting Latrine Use in Rural India Thematic Window. Candidates with graduate-level education in public health, economics, public policy, international development, public administration, psychology or other relevant social sciences will be preferred. The candidate will ideally have an interest in sanitation and the behavioural sciences, as the hallmark of this thematic window is the management of a portfolio of low-cost, behavioural science-based interventions to promote latrine use in rural India. This thematic window is supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, with intellectual inputs from the research institute for compassionate economics. It represents an innovate foray into understanding what works (as well as what does not) to promote latrine use, rather than just latrine construction, as a means to ending open defecation in India. The results will support the Government of India’s Swachh Bharat Mission. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the deadline of 30 April 2017.
