Speaker: Howard White, Executive Director, 3ie
Date: 24 October, 2013, 3.30-5pm

Systematic reviews have become a fashion in international development. What are they, and what are they good for? This talk will begin with a introductory insight into why reviews are necessary, focusing on why meta-analysis is needed to synthesize study findings. The main part of the talk will present key findings from a range of reviews on clean water, agricultural extension and conditional cash transfer. Finally, strengths and limitations of systematic reviews and their alternatives will be discussed.
