The Fair Trade, Employment and Poverty Reduction (FTEPR) project investigates the impact of Fairtrade certification on the pay and conditions of agricultural wage workers. Focusing on tea, flowers and coffee, this four-year project collected data in Ethiopia and Uganda. A complex picture emerges that questions the causal impact of Fairtrade certification on the very poorest.
