Highlights

This brief is based on the findings of an evaluation that examines the impact of a community-managed conditional cash transfer programme on outcomes related to community relations, health and education of household members. The study found that the programme had a positive effect on community cohesion. It further showed a significant impact on school attendance and literacy rates of girls aged 5-18. After an initial surge in health clinic visits, participating households reduced the number of visits, but were healthier.
