Social Protection
This program supports impact evaluations to build the evidence base on the effectiveness of interventions that reduce the risks faced by the poor through participation in public works and employment programs. These interventions include entitlements, conditional and unconditional cash and non-cash transfers made to beneficiaries.
Overview
Since its inception in 2012, we have funded ten evaluations to assess the impact of interventions around public works, cash transfers and youth training on a variety of social outcomes. The awards were based on the findings of a scoping exercise, read the report here.
The studies funded under the evidence program evaluated transfer, public works, and youth job training programs in Ecuador, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Malawi, Peru, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Timor-Leste, Uganda, Yemen and Zimbabwe.
This program has been funded by the UK Department for International Development.
