Meital Kupfer

Research Associate

Meital is a project coordinator for the gender and women's empowerment systematic review. She works on the production of systematic reviews, evidence gap maps and contributes to the Development Evidence Portal. Her background is in refugee and migration response, gender and women's empowerment programming and community-based development in East and Central Africa as well as the Middle East. She has worked in East and Central Africa, focusing specifically on the intersection of arts and humanitarian response, refugee rights, and gender.

Prior to joining 3ie, Meital worked with several NGOs and women's rights organizations in Uganda and East Africa on the South Sudanese refugee response and strengthening women's movements. Meital holds an MSc in International Development and Humanitarian Emergencies from the London School of Economics and a BA in International Development from the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University.
