Evidence Dialogues: Learnings from routine child vaccination coverage for Covid policy and practice

Webinar 22 July 2021 Online The session opened with a brief presentation of findings from a new evidence gap map highlighting the volume and type of evidence available on effectiveness of interventions related to routine immunization of children and the major gaps in the evidence base. It was followed by a panel discussion on the role and use of evidence in this sector as well as opportunities and challenges associated with evidence-informed decision making, especially in the context of the global push for increasing COVID-19 vaccination coverage.

These gaps reflect the well-recognized implementation challenge in nutrition – the gap between knowledge of what works and the implementation of proven interventions to achieve coverage and impact at scale. Implementation science and research can help identify and address challenges to implementation. This session focused on the role of implementation research for strengthening the planning, delivery, or scale up of nutrition interventions.
