CEGA’s Geospatial Analysis for Development (Geo4Dev) Initiative hosted an online symposium to highlight cutting-edge tools, datasets, and applications of geospatial data for global development research, followed by a hands-on workshop for those interested in building or honing their skills in this space.

Understanding the costs of a program or policy–in addition to its impacts–is critical to making informed decisions about how limited development resources are spent.

The new mixed-methods 3ie systematic review examined the evidence from 36 impact evaluations based on 24 studies to understand which strategies are effective for which populations in which contexts. Ada Sonnenfeld, lead author of the review, presented the key findings and implications for policy and programmes.

3ie presented on the topic ‘Use of behavioural-science Informed Interventions to promote latrine use in rural India a synthesis of findings.

This inaugural edition of the 3ie Evidence Dialogues focused on the role of evidence in the context of peacebuilding and transitional development assistance. Apart from presenting the findings from a new systematic review assessing the effects of interventions to promote social cohesion, the discussion touched upon the role and use of evidence in the sector, building a culture of evidence use, and how to ensure right steps are taken to addresses the existing evidence gaps in this sector.
