Unpacking the determinants of entrepreneurship development and economic empowerment for women in Kenya
3ie Impact Evaluation Report 95, 2019
David McKenzie, Susana Puerto, Frank Odhiambo
Authors evaluated the impact of the International Labour Organization’s Gender and Entrepreneurship Together training programme (GET Ahead) in rural Kenya. The overall aim was to enhance women’s entrepreneurship through knowledge and skills development in business and management. After three years, women who received training earn higher profits, are more likely to have surviving businesses, and have improved mental health and subjective well-being.
