Katherine Casey, Rachel Glennerster and Edward Miguel
In this study, Katherine Casey, Rachel Glennerster and Edward Miguel evaluate the impact of GoBifo, a community driven development programme in Sierra Leone. The findings suggest that GoBifo is a reasonable mechanism to deliver local public goods efficiently at a low cost and in a transparent manner. However, there is no evidence to show that GoBifo is an effective method to strengthen social capital or fundamentally alter local hierarchies and decision-making processes in this context.
