Bidisha Barooah

Bidisha Barooah is a development economist whose career centers on impact evaluations and evidence-based policymaking. She is an Economist at Asian Development Bank, Manila. Prior to ADB, she has worked in organizations like 3ie and IFAD. At 3ie, she served as Lead Evaluation Specialist, directing impact evaluations on rural livelihoods, financial inclusion and agriculture with cross-cutting themes of gender equality, and women's empowerment. Previously, as Lead Technical Specialist (Economist) in the Research and Impact Assessment Division at the International Fund for Agricultural Development in Rome, she advanced data-driven decisions in IFAD operations and agriculture ministries across Asia and Africa. She has a PhD in economics from the Delhi School of Economics, India.
