Esteban J Quiñones

Dr. Quiñones has more than 15 years of experience conducting rigorous, policy relevant research and evaluations in Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America and the Caribbean. He is a development economist and demographer with research interests in rural development, migration, food security, agriculture, social protection, climate change, gender, and labor economics. 

Prior to joining 3ie, Dr. Quiñones worked as a Researcher at Mathematica, a Research Analyst at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), and a Research Assistant at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). He also previously served with the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps. 

Dr. Quiñones holds a Ph.D. in agricultural and applied economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he was a predoctoral trainee at the Center for Demography and Ecology supported by the National Institute for Child Health and Human Development (NICHD-T32). He also holds an M.A. in international development from the School of International Service at American University and a B.A. in economics from Tufts University.
