CEDIL lecture: Learning and adapting in development practice
Speaker: Patrick Ward, programme director, CEDIL
Time: 12:45 PM – 14:00 PM GMT
Venue: Room LG 24, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Keppel Street, London, WC1A 7HT
The growth of the global evidence base has provided opportunities to accelerate development through the systematic sharing of evidence on ‘what works’. Context matters, and the implementation of development programmes requires the ability to learn from and respond to successes and failures quickly and in the face of limited data. Patrick Ward will explore factors influencing the extent to which development programmes are able to adapt in the light of new evidence and learning. He will draw from the practical experience of monitoring and evaluating development programmes and supporting government statistics across a range of sectors in developing countries.
