The Evidence for Development (Evi4Dev) Conference 2025 is a biennial event focused on strengthening the use of data, evidence, and innovation to advance Africa’s development agenda. Taking place from 6–8 May 2025, the conference brings together policymakers, researchers, and practitioners to explore the role of science, technology, and innovation in achieving the SDGs and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.

Under the theme "Optimising the Role of Data, Evidence, and Innovations in Africa’s Efforts to Create Wealth, Empower Citizens, and Foster Responsive Governance," the conference will feature high-level plenaries, panel sessions, and workshops addressing key issues such as wealth creation, food security, education, and health.

Evi4Dev aims to generate actionable insights and foster cross-sector collaboration to ensure evidence plays a central role in shaping inclusive and sustainable development across the continent. Read more

3ie at Evi4Dev: Christine Kelly on advancing evidence use in policymaking

3ie’s Christine Kelly will speak in Parallel Session 15: Research and innovation for wealth creation to realise Agenda 2063 – II, presenting insights from the FCDO Research Commissioning Centre (RCC) programme. Her talk, Enhancing evidence use in economic policymaking: lessons and opportunities, will focus on practical findings from the RCC’s work to support evidence-informed policymaking.
