Vibecke (Beckie) Dixon

Vibecke (Beckie) Dixon is a 3ie senior research fellow and an independent development evaluation consultant. Beckie has specialised in peer reviews and assessments of organisational and national evaluation systems and has spent more than 20 years evaluating development programs in Africa, Asia and Latin America. She has consulted with several UN agencies, multilateral banks, and governments on their evaluation systems and on development policies and programs. She was previously the manager of IFAD’s gender programme in East and Southern Africa and worked for eight years in Norad both as a senior evaluation adviser and a senior education adviser. For the past seven years she has been consulting with the World Bank’s Independent Evaluation Group both as an evaluator and a panel reviewer.

Beckie holds a master’s degree in Education and Development from the University of Bristol, UK, and a master’s degree of Research in Anthropology from Goldsmiths College, University of London. She is currently pursuing her PhD from Goldsmiths College, the working title of her thesis is Enduring Revolution: State, Money and Margins in Cuba” (to be submitted).
