Arnab Acharya

Arnab Acharya is a 3ie Senior Research Fellow with more than 25 years of experience in teaching and research in health economics and development economics. He has held academic positions in India, the United Kingdom, and the United States, including at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine for six years.

Arnab has also worked with consulting groups such as the Research Triangle Institute. His evaluation works include a large randomized field trial on maternal health in Uttar Pradesh in India and the millennium villages project in Ghana. He has worked on civil society, health economics, and health systems and has authored several papers on cost-effectiveness analysis. He has worked extensively in South Asia, Malawi, Ghana, Tanzania, and Ethiopia.
 
He holds a PhD in microeconomic theory from the University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign, and a master’s in public health from Harvard University. His current research focuses on cost-effectiveness analysis, vaccine pricing, and household poverty and health.
