In this Decade of Nutrition and to reach Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger, there has been a massive push to improve nutrition internationally. However, current trends in food security show that we are not likely to meet our goals. In order to get back on track, policymakers and implementers are prioritizing the most effective interventions. Therefore, they need to be equipped with the best available evidence to support their decision-making. 3ie developed a package of evidence collation and synthesis tools to help stakeholders acting in the Food Systems and Nutrition fields keep up with the rapidly growing literature base and to fill identified evidence gaps. In this webinar, we presented findings from our three recent outputs in this area (1) a living evidence gap map, (2) a rapid evidence assessment on women’s empowerment within the food system, and (3) a systematic review on the use of fiscal policies to support a healthy diet. The panel focused on the experience in navigating the evidence base within the field of Food Systems and Nutrition, the types of evidence needed, and how the research community can better respond to the evidence needs of policymakers and implementers.
