Call for expressions of interest: Russian information operations in the Baltics

On behalf of the FCDO Research Commissioning Centre, 3ie invites expressions of interest from organisations or consortia to conduct a systematic review of the effects of policies tackling Russian information campaigns and an evaluation of the ban on Russian propaganda channels in the three Baltic countries. The full terms of reference for this funding opportunity require applicants to hold at minimum ‘SC’ security clearance. For more information, see detailed call for expressions of interest.

2018 in review

2018 was a memorable year for 3ie. Our 10th anniversary gave us an opportunity to celebrate our successes, reflect on the lessons learned, and appreciate our members, partners, staff and supporters.

Deeksha Ahuja

Evidence Impact Specialist
Deeksha supports the team in monitoring of 3ie-funded grants and in-house studies for policy-relevance, stakeholder engagement and evidence uptake. She contributes to the production of reports, briefs and other communication products.

Testing new interventions for women’s collective enterprise projects

3ie’s Swashakt program is funding nine projects to enhance viability, scalability and returns of collective enterprises and generate evidence to promote women’s economic empowerment. The two projects (below) span agro-processing and non-farm sectors.

Ingunn Storhaug

Research Assistant
Ingunn supports the production of evidence gap maps and systematic reviews on a variety of topics. Prior to this, she provided research assistance at UCL on a project relating to the effect of teacher incentives on student achievement. Ingunn holds an MSc in Social Policy and Social Research from UCL and a BA in Sociology and Social Policy from Middlesex University.

In 2023, 735 million individuals worldwide experienced hunger, and 258 million people across 58 countries and territories faced acute food insecurity at crisis or worse levels. With 60% of them comprising women, the gender gap in food insecurity continues to widen.

11th AfrEA International Conference

The 11th AfrEA International Conference will be held in Kigali, Rwanda from 18-22 March 2024. The theme for the conference is “Technology and Innovation in Evaluation Practice in Africa: The Last Nail on the Coffin of Participatory Approaches?”. The conference provides an opportunity for participants from Africa and around the world to submit and present papers and posters, chair panels, and facilitate professional development workshops.
