Juan Manuel Hernández-Agramonte

Juan Manuel Hernández-Agramonte is the Regional Director (RD) for at Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), and he is part of the IPA Applied Research & Methods (ARM) affiliates group, serving as an Internal Principal Investigator. His research focuses on understanding the impact of educational policies with an interest in diversity and inclusion. As RD, Juan provides support to governments and practitioners in LAC in implementing evidence-based policy. To do so, Juan designs and manages a wide range of impact evaluations. Part of his role is to provide technical assistance to governments in the incorporation of evidence into the policy cycle. One of his main projects in this area was to lead the creation of MineduLab, the innovation lab for education policy of the Ministry of Education of Peru. Before working for IPA, he was a Policy Manager for J-PAL, where he worked on developing government initiatives to incorporate evidence into policy decisions. He holds an Msc in International Development Studies from the University of Amsterdam and a BA in Sociology from Complutense de Madrid University.
