The Berkeley Initiative for Transparency in the Social Sciences (BITSS) Annual Meeting brought together actors from academia, scholarly publishing, and policy to share novel research and discuss efforts to improve the credibility of social science by advancing research transparency, reproducibility, rigor, and ethics. This year’s keynote address on 10 February was given by 2021 Nobel Laureate David Card (UC Berkeley), who discussed the credibility (r)evolution in empirical research.

The panel is part of the annual Financial Inclusion Week organized by the Centre for Financial Inclusion. This year, the focus is on how COVID-19 has exposed the fragility of the global economy, with low-income households and small businesses bearing the brunt of the pandemic's economic impact.
