This brief is based on the systematic review summary, The impact of education programmes on learning and school participation in low- and middle-income countries by Snilstveit et. al. The report summarises the findings of a 3ie systematic review of the impact of 216 education programmes in 52 low- and middle-income countries. It analysed the effectiveness of 21 different types of education programmes on children’s school enrolment, attendance, completion and learning outcomes. The findings from this most comprehensive synthesis of scientific research can help decision-makers identify effective education programmes for achieving the education targets.
