Evidence impact summary  
The European Commission's Knowledge4Policy portal and the 2021 UN Food Systems Summit brief mention the findings of the 3ie Food Systems and Nutrition Evidence and Gap Map. The Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation also commissioned a rapid evidence assessment as a result of the findings.

3ie’s expanding portfolio of research on climate change evidence now includes a groundbreaking first-of-its-kind evidence gap map (EGM) of sustainable energy interventions in low- and middle-income countries.

Integrating cost evidence in research and evaluation

Public resources have competing usages, and efficient allocation of resources for development projects is key to improving social outcomes. Policymakers need information on both effectiveness and costs to support prioritization of scarce resources, budget optimization and project management. 3ie’s Cost Evidence Group designs and implements rigorous cost analysis, including as an integrated part of impact evaluation, provides training on measuring and analyzing costs, and supports partners in better use of cost evidence in decision-making.

New peacebuilding evidence from Sudan, USAID signs 3ie-initiated pledge, funding and jobs
Our latest impact evaluation has new evidence on the effectiveness of peacebuilding projects supported by the UN Secretary General’s Peacebuilding Fund in Darfur, Sudan. In partnership with the International Security and Development Center, 3ie evaluated projects that focused on reducing land conflict and improving service delivery in the Assalaya-Sheiria-Yassin Triangle in East Darfur.

3ie welcomes USAID to the Global Evidence Commitment

 

3ie welcomes USAID as the newest member of the Global Evidence Commitment. As part of the Agency’s long-term commitment to evidence, Michele Sumilas, Assistant to the Administrator for Policy, Planning and Learning signed the pledge on behalf of USAID on 2 May 2024. USAID joins other leading development sector institutions that are working together to strengthen mutual learning and support in making better use of rigorous evidence.
